About the role

In this role you will be part of a multi-million-pound collaboration with the Met Office to co-design and deliver a new training programme for early career meteorologists. The partnership combines our excellence in innovative learning design and environmental and climate-related disciplines with the Met Office’s world leading operational expertise.

Together, we will be building a Foundation Operational Meteorology Programme fit for a profession being transformed by climate change, extreme weather and artificial intelligence. It will also enhance career opportunities and make meteorology more accessible to people from a wider range of backgrounds.

You will work in collaboration with academic and professional services staff across the University, and professionals from across the Met Office, to develop programme excellence and be a key player in the production and development of the programme.

This is a part-time position working 18.5 hours per week on a fixed-term basis for 3 years due to Business Demand.

For this role, you will need to be on site 2 days a week. Although we can accommodate working from home for this role, flexibility to be on-site will be expected due to business needs.

There is an essential requirement within this role that you will be required to travel to and work at different University sites and/or other business locations that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Please refer to the job description for further information.

What we’re looking for

You will have:

* A Degree or equivalent qualification, or equivalent professional experience in supporting learning technology, online learning or pedagogy.
* Instructional design knowledge, skills, and experience of online, distance and blended programmes
* Excellent communication – verbal, written, presentations
* Demonstrable interest and enthusiasm for the use of digital technology in education.
* Customer service
* Analytical and results orientated
* Specialist IT skills appropriate to the development of e-learning materials and to support the development of group and individual digital literacy skills
* Knowledge of sound pedagogy-based teaching and assessment methods and techniques in Health, STEM or Arts based disciplines in higher education
* Knowledge of xAPI, SCORM or latest interoperability standards
