This role is offered on a fixed term/secondment basis for 12 months.

Internal applicants who wish to be considered for a secondment opportunity should discuss with their line manager the suitability of a possible secondment.

We are looking for exceptional individuals who are dedicated to working with children and young people and keen to take up this training opportunity. You will enroll in the CYP-IAPT 12-month postgraduate diploma in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy beginning January 2026. We are offering 2 CBT trainee contracts (AfC Band 6), working with Exeter University. During training, you will attend teaching days at least twice a week (online and in person), with the remaining days for supervision, study, and clinical work.

As this is a postgraduate course, you must demonstrate your ability to study at a postgraduate level.


KSA route

We will consider applicants without a core profession if they meet the BABCP KSA requirements. Babcp KSA CBT Pathway Information for prospective candidates

* Provide specialist CAMHS assessment and treatment for children & young people (0-18yrs) with emotional & mental health difficulties, including those with learning disabilities.
* Manage caseloads, adhering to risk management & care planning processes in line with the Care Programme Approach (CPA), liaising with Trust and multi-agency partners.
* Conduct CAMHS risk assessments (including self-harm) and develop risk management plans as part of routine clinical work.
* Deliver clinical interventions within a multidisciplinary team, with roles and responsibilities outlined in a job plan, reviewed quarterly.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with Trust policies.
* Provide CAMHS consultation, training, and advice within children’s services in Gloucestershire.
* Offer clinical supervision to junior staff and participate in CPD activities.
* Apply clinical reasoning, knowledge, skills, and competencies in CAMHS interventions.
* Collaborate with colleagues to develop a strong multidisciplinary ethos and deliver high-quality services.
* The child’s voice will be central to developing personalized care plans.
