Warehouse & Logistics Manager
A leading manufacturer based in Belfast is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee its Warehouse and Logistics operations. This key role ensures the efficient management of the company’s warehouse and logistics functions, maintaining high standards in safety, quality, and productivity. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and experience in warehouse operations, logistics coordination, and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, and dispatch.
2. Implement effective strategies for warehouse layout and space optimization.
3. Manage the logistics team to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
4. Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, minimizing delays.
5. Build and maintain relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and transportation companies.
6. Monitor performance of logistics partners to ensure service levels are met.
7. Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and handle day-to-day employee relations issues.
8. Ensure adherence to company policies on recruitment, promotion, and equal opportunities.
9. Identify opportunities to streamline warehouse and logistics processes.
10. Implement continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
11. Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and logistics tracking tools effectively.
12. Ensure adherence to health, safety, and legal requirements within warehouse and logistics operations.
13. Monitor and control warehouse and logistics budgets.
14. Prepare reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as delivery costs and stock accuracy.
15. Work closely with production, procurement, and sales teams to align operations with business objectives.
Qualifications & Skills:
1. Proven experience in managing warehouse and logistics operations.
2. Strong leadership and team development abilities.
3. Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies.
4. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
5. A commitment to health, safety, and compliance standards.
