CIVIL ENGINEER (PE)
Location of Position - Langdon, ND
Salary Range: $85,000 - $125,000
Fischer Land Surveying & Engineering of Langdon, ND is seeking a Civil Engineer (PE) to join our team. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in civil or construction engineering. Our primary service area includes NE ND and NW MN, with projects across ND. With 28 years of growth, we pride ourselves on providing accurate, quality services. As a small company, every employee plays a vital role. We design open channel drains and have contributed to creating 30 assessment drains in northeastern ND. Working for a small firm allows you to manage projects from conception to construction. Our projects also include site design and layout for convenience stores, agricultural facilities, and commercial buildings.
Full-time, Monday to Friday. Compensation depends on experience.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
1. Manage small to mid-size projects, including client and contractor agreements and budgets.
2. Prepare technical engineering reports, plans, and specifications for construction projects.
3. Assist in field operations such as construction inspection, surveying, and other field engineering tasks. Oversee construction activities and ensure compliance with documents.
4. Consult with clients and contractors to plan and develop civil engineering strategies. Provide oversight with contractors and subcontractors.
5. Gather field survey data using conventional and GPS methods; prepare accurate notes, drawings, and records of conditions.
6. Ensure project schedules and productivity goals are met.
7. Assist with land surveying as needed; training provided.
8. Maintain work vehicle supplies such as stakes, flagging, and lath.
9. Track routine maintenance and oil changes for survey vehicles or UTVs.

Job Requirements and Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Construction Engineering, with coursework in hydrology, hydraulics, soil mechanics, construction, and business. Must hold PE license. Experience in municipal/buildings and highway design is preferred.
* Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
* Detail-oriented, self-motivated, independent thinker, with excellent listening, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Proficient in English communication.
* Ability to manage multiple projects with initiative and timeliness.
* Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to pass drug tests.
* Capable of outdoor work, manual labor, lifting 50-75 lbs, and walking on uneven terrain.
* Proven work ethic and reliable attendance.
* Must be willing to relocate or commute reliably.
