Electrical Power Systems Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Power Systems Engineer to join our team. The key responsibilities include:
1. Conducting load flow, short circuit, and stability analysis of electrical power systems.
2. Managing and analyzing electrical load budgets.
3. Developing and validating electrical models.
4. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and stakeholders on power system matters.
5. Preparing technical reports, calculations, and presentations to communicate results and provide recommendations.
6. Mentoring junior team members.
Qualifications and experience required:
* Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
* Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
* Knowledge of high power and medium voltage power systems and distribution.
* Extensive experience in Power Systems Modelling.
* Experience with electrical load budget and load flow analysis.
* Proficiency with power system analysis software tools (e.g., ETAP, MATLAB/Simulink/Simscape).
* Stakeholder management experience.
Please note: Many roles at BAE Systems are subject to security and export control restrictions. Applicants must meet at least the Baseline Personnel Security Standard, with higher levels of vetting requiring 5-10 years of UK residency.
Salary: Up to £55,000, plus a competitive pension scheme, employee share plans, and various flexible benefits, including health and wellbeing discounts and private health plans. An annual incentive may also be available.
About the role: As part of the Electrical Verification Team, you will verify and validate power system designs, conduct analyses, and support electrical platform development. We offer relocation support for eligible candidates.
