Are you looking to develop your dietetic skills working with adults with a range of conditions in the acute setting? This post is based within the Adult Nutrition and Dietetic team in Grimsby and is the ideal place to start or develop your practice as a Band 5 Dietitian.
The post-holder will be an essential team member within the service, working alongside experienced senior Dietitians, Dietetic Assistant Practitioner, Dietetic Assistant and the wider MDT. You will receive ongoing informal and structured support from your senior colleagues, including support to complete your preceptorship with a view to developing knowledge and skills where required. As you progress, you will have the opportunity for a high degree of autonomy in your clinical practice and day‑to‑day organisation of your work, within the context of a friendly and supportive team of dietetic colleagues. You will be encouraged to participate in service developments and will have access to excellent training and support from the Trust’s Quality Improvement team. There will also be opportunities to train other health‑care professionals and, as your own clinical skills develop, you will become actively involved in student training with support to develop clinical supervisory skills.
Responsibilities
* Provide a high standard dietetic service undertaking all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
* Be responsible for the caseload in a defined area of the service, supervising and allocating work to assistants and students, as delegated.
* Provide advice to other health‑care professionals as appropriate for the level of skills.
* Use clinical reasoning skills and evidence‑based practice to provide a diagnosis and to develop and deliver treatment programmes.
* Participate in evidence‑based audit and research projects to further quality improvement in the service.
* Meet with and keep to the HCPC Standards of Proficiency and Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
* Deputise for a Band 6 dietitian when required.
