Data Engineer
Location: Hybrid (Belfast-based) | Full-time | Career development opportunity
We're looking for a motivated Data Engineer to join a dynamic and supportive team working on enterprise-scale data solutions. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in SQL and Python, a passion for building data pipelines, working with cloud technologies, and transforming raw data into actionable insights.
You will collaborate closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to integrate, model, and maintain large datasets from multiple sources, ensuring data quality and reliability. Your responsibilities will include designing and optimizing data workflows, supporting analytical and reporting initiatives, and contributing to the development of our modern data infrastructure.
This hands-on role offers rapid learning, ownership of tasks, and the opportunity to help clarify business decisions through high-quality, well-documented data processes.
What you'll do:
* Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and data models
* Support testing, validation, and optimization of data processes
* Work with cloud technologies (Azure) and modern DevOps tools
* Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data needs
* Create technical documentation to promote transparency and knowledge sharing
What you'll bring:
* Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related discipline
* Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL
* Familiarity with Python and data warehousing concepts
* A strong analytical mindset and eagerness to learn
* Exposure to Azure or similar cloud platforms is desirable
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
