About the Role

A vibrant and inclusive primary school in Reading Town Centre is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teacher to join its professional teaching team. This is a full-time, permanent position, suitable for experienced teachers and newly qualified teachers (ECTs).

The successful candidate will be responsible for a class in either Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality lessons that inspire pupils and support their academic, social, and emotional development. Key Responsibilities

As a Primary Teacher in Reading Town Centre, your responsibilities will include:

* Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons across the curriculum in line with the National Curriculum

* Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of all pupils

* Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of pupils of varying abilities, including those with SEN or EAL

* Monitoring pupil progress through formative and summative assessment and adapting teaching accordingly

* Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, effort, and achievement

* Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development alongside their academic progress

* Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SEN staff, and senior leadership to provide targeted support

* Participating in pupil progress meetings, curriculum planning, and whole-school initiatives

* Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing

* Keeping accurate records of pupil performance, assessment, and behaviour

* Actively participating in staff meetings, CPD sessions, and other professional development opportunities

* Upholding safeguarding, child protection, and school policies at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a Primary Teacher who:

* Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

* Has experience teaching in KS1 or KS2 (ECTs welcome)

* Demonstrates excellent classroom management skills and a positive approach to behaviour

* Is committed to inclusive education, supporting pupils from diverse backgrounds

* Can differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners

* Is reflective, proactive, and committed to ongoing professional development

* Has strong communication and interpersonal skills with pupils, parents, and colleagues

* Works collaboratively as part of a professional teaching team

* Is passionate about making a meaningful difference in children’s lives

Experience supporting pupils with SEN, EAL, or additional learning needs is desirable but not essential.
