We are seeking to appoint a Principal Lecturer to join our growing team to lead and develop our Undergraduate and Postgraduate portfolios.

The successful candidate will lead, plan, develop and contribute to the delivery of quality courses across a range of veterinary and animal science subject areas. You will work with colleagues across a range of subjects to ensure effective business planning, marketing and recruitment strategies and a coordinated and enhanced student experience. You will be keen to contribute to the wider activity of the school, in particular research support, knowledge exchange and income generation activity., Our people are our most important asset. As a self‑motivated and pro‑active individual, the successful applicant will have an excellent track record of building and sustaining internal and external relationships alongside excellent communication and networking skills. You will have a strong record of successful academic leadership, including programme and curriculum development and delivery, constructive alignment, instructional design, and quality enhancement. You will have experience and understanding of the domestic and international market (UG and PG) and developments in areas relevant to the School and must have worked with professional bodies and / or veterinary or animal science sector skills councils.

You will hold an undergraduate degree in Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science or a related field and a PhD, and/or clinical and/or academic postgraduate qualifications r specialism in a relevant subject. The School fosters a pro‑active and collegiate culture and we are looking for someone who will be enthusiastic, collaborative and adaptable; committed to achieving the mission and vison of the wider University and the School of Veterinary Medicine in particular.

Our School of Veterinary Medicine is the first of its kind in Lancashire and one of only two in the North of England. As such, this is a unique opportunity to work in state‑of‑the‑art facilities, including a hydrotherapy treadmill, consulting rooms, clinical skills and anatomy suites, in a purpose‑built school that opened in 2025.
