As part of their growth, they are now recruiting qualified Solar Electricians to strengthen their installation teams. Ideally QC and SEAI but must have solar experience as a minimum.

Key Responsibilities

* Ensure all work aligns with design specifications, manufacturer requirements, and national electrical regulations.

Electrical Connections

* Safely integrate solar systems into building electrical networks and the national grid.
* Install and commission switchgear, breakers, meters, and protection devices to ensure seamless system operation.

System Testing & Commissioning

* Perform comprehensive testing of completed systems, verifying voltages, currents, and performance metrics.
* Diagnose and resolve wiring issues, faults, or configuration errors before handover.

Compliance & Safety

* Follow all electrical safety standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.
* Use PPE correctly and apply lockout/tagout procedures where required.
* Ensure installations pass all inspections and meet grid‑connection compliance standards.

Quality Workmanship

* Deliver clean, organised, and professional electrical work.
* Label circuits, tidy cabling, and maintain high visual and technical standards.
* Document any design changes and communicate them to the engineering team.

Maintenance & Support

* Conduct service visits, performance checks, and repairs on existing solar systems.
* Troubleshoot underperformance or faults to minimise customer downtime.

Team Collaboration

* Work closely with roofers, installers, technicians, and site supervisors to keep projects on schedule.
* Coordinate tasks efficiently and support apprentices or junior technicians when required.

Customer Interaction

* Represent the company professionally on-site.
* Explain basic system operation and answer general customer questions, escalating technical queries to project managers when needed.

Continuous Improvement

* Stay updated on new solar technologies, electrical standards, and installation techniques.
* Participate in training and contribute ideas to improve safety, efficiency, and installation quality.

Required Qualifications

* Fully qualified electrician with a recognised certification (e.g., National Craft Certificate in Electrical Installation).
* Current registration with Safe Electric (REC) or equivalent.

Experience

* Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical installation.
* Solar PV experience strongly preferred (residential or commercial).

* Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring methods, and national electrical regulations (e.g., IS 10101).
* Familiarity with PV components such as panels, inverters, and battery storage systems.

Certifications

* Safe Pass, Manual Handling, Working at Heights.
* Additional solar‑specific training (SEAI, City & Guilds, NABCEP) is an advantage.

Driver’s Licence

* Full, clean driving licence with willingness to travel to various project sites on both sides of the border.

Physical Requirements

* Comfortable working on roofs, ladders, and in outdoor environments.
* Ability to lift and handle solar equipment safely.

Key Competencies

* Technical Proficiency: Strong installation and troubleshooting skills; confident reading schematics and using electrical tools.
* Safety Focus: Proactive in identifying hazards and maintaining a safe work environment.
