We are seeking an enthusiastic and well-organised General Practice Assistant to join our busy practice.
This exciting role has lots of scope for development, so we are looking for someone who can adapt as the role evolves to support our practice. The General Practice Assistant role is varied, with a mix of patient-facing clinical work and administrative work.
The successful candidate will have good patient communication skills as well as an eye for detail as you review the work that needs to be done. Any required training will be provided, and you will work under the supervision of the GP partners.
Job Summary:
* To undertake the duties as detailed below to a standard which ensures a high quality of care for the patients, promotes the image of the practice and assists the practice team in providing a professional, efficient and effective service
* To ensure administrative and clinical duties within the Practice are carried out within the Practices guidelines and policies
* To ensure that day-to-day activities of the Practice are carried out accordingly
GPA Duties: this list is not exhaustive and will be completed under GP supervision when required
* Phlebotomy clinics, including blood pressure checks and ECG's as required
* Supporting the GP with immunisations/wound care
* Completing any relevant clinical forms prior to patients appointments to support the GP in running efficient clinics – this may be either in person with the patient or over the phone
* Supporting the GP to make referrals to hospital departments such as SDEC, A&E and helping arrange patient transport, ambulances etc
* Arranging follow up appointments at the GP's request & supporting in the clinical management of patients to ensure a smoother process for our patients
* Reviewing any documents sent in by patients and making sure the relevant information is brought to the GP attention & coding information in patient records
* Reviewing AccuRx messages received by the practice and signposting patients to the most relevant appointment
* Supporting GP's during complex patient appointments, helping to input information onto the clinical systems to ensure a smoother process for appointments
* Support the GP with adequate and accurate summarisation of medical records
