Forklift Engineer – Bristol
Location: Bristol & Surrounding AreasSalary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum (Dependent on Experience)
NEOS Engineering are recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled Forklift Engineer to join their team in Bristol. This is a hands-on, field-based role focused on the maintenance, servicing, and repair of a wide range of forklifts and material handling equipment, ensuring safe and reliable operations for clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Service, maintain, and repair diesel, LPG, and electric forklifts
* Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs
* Test and commission forklifts and other material handling equipment
* Maintain accurate service and maintenance records
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and safe use of PPE
* Provide technical advice and support to clients on-site
Requirements
* Proven experience as a forklift or material handling engineer
* Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical fault-finding skills
* Experience with counterbalance, reach, and order picker forklifts
* Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals
* Full UK driving licence
* Excellent communication skills and a professional approach
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
* Manufacturer-specific training or accreditation
* Experience with major forklift brands (e.g., Toyota, Linde, Hyster, Crown, Still)
* NVQ or equivalent in mechanical/engineering maintenance
* Experience with heavy industrial or warehouse equipment
