Responsibilities
Research and investigate local and community-based issues, events, and trends.
Conduct interviews with citizens, activists, policymakers, and local changemakers.
Write well-researched articles, features, and reports adhering to journalistic integrity and factual accuracy.
Collaborate with editors for feedback, mentoring, and editorial refinement.
Uphold journalistic ethics, neutrality, and accuracy in all work.
Submit articles on deadline and maintain clear communication with the editorial team.
(Optional) Contribute multimedia content such as photographs, short videos, or audio snippets.
Stay informed about regional developments, civic matters, and public policy.
Promote civic engagement and social awareness through storytelling.
Qualifications
Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English, Political Science, or related disciplines.
Strong writing and verbal communication skills.
Solid research ability and curiosity about local/community issues.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Comfortable using Google Docs, email, and CMS tools.
(Bonus): Experience in multimedia reporting or grassroots journalism is an added advantage.
Previous journalistic experience is appreciated but not mandatory—dedication and willingness to learn matter most.
