Tudor Lodge Surgery (Part of Pier Health Group super partnership) is seeking a most fabulous GP to join our friendly and welcoming team!
At Tudor Lodge Surgery, whilst the job may be as expected, what you don't find elsewhere is such a wonderful, supportive and approachable team who lunch together and manage to have a laugh. We have an open door policy, there is always support on hand from other team members.
We are very democratic and seek involvement of the team in any decisions. The team is our priority, something the CQC recognised in our recent inspection.
We are a training practice (GPs and Nurses) and are keen to support staff to expand their skills and grow in confidence. There are opportunities every day to discuss cases amongst team members.
We don't have a duty doctor system and our continuity levels are very high for GPs (approx 75%)
Main duties of the job
We have been using Ask My GP as our digital tool since January 2019 and our on line system has been switched on all day for the last couple of years.
We have personalised lists as we believe this benefits both the patients and the clinicians alike. We don't have a duty doctor rota! Patients have got used to continuity and access is pretty good so the majority of patients are happy to wait for their usual GP and acute issues are dealt with by our paramedics.
We are happy to consider a wide range of development opportunities if you have a special interest you wish to develop, we're all ears.
About us
We have 12,452 (unweighted) / 13,953 (weighted) patients - a wide demographic mix from significant health inequalities to care homes to semi rural patients. Its a great mix.
We have a Multidisciplinary team including Mental health Nurse(s),, Specialist Menopause Nurse (BMS Advanced accredited), chronic disease nurse team, Frailty Nurse, Learning Disabilities Nurse, along with PCN staff such as first contact physio and pharmacy.
Our admin team are skilled and supportive and we have a clinician to support with Docman and Path results to reduce the admin workload for GPs.
We have a training and development afternoon every month (called 'Planet') where all clinicians from all the local practices attend (including lunch) and each practice takes a turn at covering any urgent clinical issues on a rota basis. A great opportunity for networking and learning.
Our ethos is about creating a happy and fulfilled workforce. We care very much about our team members which is why we try to be as flexible as it is possible to be!
Job responsibilities
12 substantive contacts a session (including phone, F2F and digital consults), plus associated admin.
No Duty doctor sessions!
Minimal visits (a 6 session GP might expect 1-2 a week)
Support with admin (eg document management and path results also dealt with by another clinician)
PLANET - an afternoon every month where all the local practices go for lunch, training and networking
Opportunities to get involved in research and audits or project work if that floats your boat!
on site pharmacy (not run by us but very handy!)
The clinical GP content is much as you'd expect but the way we work and the team make us different.
