Role: Strategic Account Manager – Corporate Sales (European Freight)

The Company
Axzel Search is partnering exclusively with a premier European logistics and transportation provider renowned for its extensive multimodal network (Road, Rail, and Shortsea). As the company continues to expand its footprint and drive commercial innovation, we are recruiting a highly skilled Strategic Account Manager to take ownership of large-scale, high-impact freight contracts across Europe.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Director of Corporate Sales, you will:
* Develop and execute innovative sales strategies to secure and grow complex, large-scale European freight contracts with major BCOs.
* Identify high-potential business opportunities and expand the company’s market presence across both established and emerging European markets.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key corporate clients, delivering tailored multimodal logistics solutions to meet their evolving requirements.
* Act as the primary point of contact for strategic clients, ensuring exceptional account management and long-term partnership development.
* Collaborate closely with regional colleagues and global teams to deliver fully integrated logistics solutions.
* Lead negotiations of high-value contracts, structuring competitive deals in line with company objectives and profitability targets.
* Monitor key sales metrics, reporting insights and implementing strategies to surpass sales targets.
* Represent the organization at industry events and within strategic networks, driving brand visibility and building influential partnerships.
* Champion innovation in sales approaches, leveraging advanced tools and technology in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
The Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
* Extensive experience in sales within European road, multimodal transportation, or freight forwarding.
* Proven success in creating and executing sales strategies, winning significant new business, and consistently achieving revenue targets.
* In-depth knowledge of the European freight landscape, including regional trends, challenges, and customer expectations.
* Outstanding ability to build and sustain relationships with senior-level stakeholders at multinational corporations.
* Demonstrated expertise in pricing structures, contract negotiations, and managing complex deal cycles.
* Strong analytical skills and proficiency in interpreting market data and sales KPIs.
* Highly organized, self-driven, and results-oriented, capable of working both independently and as part of an international team.
* Willingness and flexibility to travel extensively across Europe as business needs dictate.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English; additional European languages are a strong advantage.
