The Role We are looking to recruit a Senior Health Care Support Worker to join the Radiology Ward at University Hospital Wishaw! The Senior Health Care Support will provide a high standard of care to a wide patient group of all ages, ethnic backgrounds and clinical conditions, during radiological imaging procedures. This includes CT, MRI, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound and plain film examination,. The Senior Health Care Support will also assist radiology staff in producing high quality images in all imaging modalities, ensuring the provision of high quality, patient centred care and an effective and efficient flow of patients throughout the department and hospital. Annex 21 Applicants who do not meet the essential criteria will be considered under the Annex 21 training programme, where whilst undergoing training, they will be paid a % of the top of Band 3 and on completion of training will then move on to Band 3 scale. What we'll need you to bring SVQ III in Healthcare Support - Clinical (incorporating modules on radiographic images) or working towards or equivalent radiography experience or SVQ III in Healthcare Support - Clinical or working towards or equivalent experience working within a clinical healthcare environment/role or Postholders with no previous radiography experience will be treated in accordance with Annex U Arrangements for Pay and Banding of Trainees – 75% of the maximum of the salary scale. Initial induction period of up to 3 months followed by a period of training and consolidation to achieve full competency across a range of specialties within 12 months. Ability to work unsupervised Ability to take direction and work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Effective communication skills; oral and written. Ability to plan and organise own workload. Ability to adapt to changing circumstances. Effective computer skills.
