We have an exciting opportunity at our Yaxleystore for a Duty Manager (Subway at SPAR) to work in our fresh food operation. As a member of the ‘Duty Manager’ team, effective during all operational hours, you will support the Store Manager in leading and motivating a team of colleagues. You will be part of the Store Manager’s leadership team, ensuring excellent customer service and contributing to store sales and profitability through initiatives like ‘Brilliant Basics, Moments of Wow, Food For Later, Food For Now’.
Key Tasks/Responsibilities:
* Support the Store Manager to ensure a safe, legal, and high-performing store, taking overall responsibility for the Subway brand and in-store regulations.
* Assist the Store Manager in delivering store operations, objectives, and KPIs.
* Manage, coach, and support colleagues, fostering a motivated and empowered team through positive management.
* Conduct performance and absence management as needed.
* Handle opening/closing of the department, colleague safety, and stock/cash security during shifts.
* Perform cash reconciliations, voids, refunds, and other management tasks for till colleagues.
* Lead by example to provide an exceptional customer experience, setting us apart from competitors.
* Engage with the local community to promote the store and support community initiatives.
* Follow all company policies, procedures, and processes.
Skills / Abilities / Knowledge / Experience:
* Previous experience at Subway preferred.
* Management or supervisory experience in food retail or a similar fast-paced environment.
* Strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
* Effective planning, organization, and prioritization skills.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills.
