Commercial Finance Director
Location: Cheshire | Hybrid role (3 days on site)
Salary: Up to £120,000 (+ bonus)
An established and growing retail business is looking to appoint a commercially focused Finance Director to work closely with the CEO and leadership team as the company continues to expand.
This role offers a genuine opportunity to influence how the business scales - from strengthening financial control to shaping commercial strategy and improving performance across the organisation.
The successful candidate will play a central role in ensuring the business has the financial insight, discipline, and structure required to support its next phase of growth.
Responsibilities
* Lead the overall finance function, ensuring accurate reporting and strong financial governance
* Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking
* Provide clear insight to leadership on profitability, sales performance, and operational efficiency
* Work closely with commercial and operational teams to support decision-making and drive margin improvement
* Develop and mentor the finance team while strengthening internal processes and reporting
* Contribute to wider business strategy and support the CEO on key commercial decisions
Candidate Profile
This role will suit an experienced finance leader who enjoys operating in a dynamic, commercially driven environment.
You are likely to bring:
* ACA qualification (or equivalent)
* Experience leading a finance function within a growing business
* Strong commercial awareness and the ability to translate numbers into actionable insight
* A track record of improving financial processes and business visibility
* Confidence working closely with senior leadership and influencing decision-making
Experience within retail or consumer-facing sectors would be beneficial, though it is not essential.
Most important is the ability to combine strategic thinking with a practical, hands-on approach.
