Behaviour Support Assistant
A warm and friendly school in Abingdon are looking to add a Behaviour Support Assistant to their team starting as soon as possible.
The Role
The successful Behaviour Support Assistant will be working directly with students who are having a hard time with their behaviour. These students often come from difficult backgrounds and have struggles with anxiety, stress and depression. This impacts their learning in a negative way. These students need a little extra help with their learning.
Your job as a Behaviour Support Assistant will be to support these students in the classroom. This can be on either a 1 to 1 basis or in a small group setting. You will be working alongside these students in the classroom, supporting their academics while also helping them to process and regulate their emotions, which will in turn help with their behaviour.
You will need to be proactive and be able to adapt your approach to match the needs of the student you are assisting.
Responsibilities
* Support students in the classroom, either 1 to 1 or in small groups.
* Assist with academics while helping students process and regulate their emotions to support behaviour.
* Be proactive and adapt your approach to match individual student needs.
Qualifications
* Some experience working with students who need extra support in the classroom.
* Confident, resilient and have a great attitude. Personality is important as you will be a role model for these students.
* Individuals with a background in education, sports, drama, music or art are encouraged to apply.
