Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of a friendly and customer‑focused Security Team, playing a crucial role in the safety and security of Bolton Council’s elected members, employees and the general public. The role involves patrolling and monitoring Council premises, responding to emergency alarm calls, preventing unauthorised access to Council property, operating control‑room equipment, maintaining accurate records, and handling occasional cash and cash‑in‑transit responsibilities. This post requires working outside normal office hours, covering evenings and weekends; for which you will receive a generous shift allowance. The position is a customer‑facing role under the fluency duty and requires a specified level of spoken English.
Responsibilities
* Patrol and monitor Council premises.
* Respond to emergency alarm calls.
* Prevent unauthorised access to Council property.
* Operate control‑room equipment.
* Maintain accurate incident and record‑keeping.
* Handle occasional cash‐and‑cash‑in‑transit duties.
Qualifications
* Full current clean driving licence.
* Valid SIA licence.
* At least 3 years of security experience in a relevant service area.
* Over 18 years old.
* Physically fit enough to lift, carry and stand for lengthy periods.
* Specified level of spoken English.
* Excellent communication skills and a passion for providing a helpful, customer‑focused service.
Schedule & Pay
* 4 × 12‑hour shifts on days, 4 days off.
* 4 × 12‑hour shifts at night, 4 days off.
