Impact are recruiting for an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and growing creative manufacturing business as a Workshop/Production Manager. This is a key leadership role within a close-knit team that designs, builds, and installs bespoke structures across a wide range of industries. With a strong project pipeline and a reputation for delivering high-quality work, the business is looking to appoint a manager to lead the workshop function and drive production efficiency.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that requires both strategic thinking and practical experience. The ideal candidate will have a background in bespoke manufacturing, joinery, or exhibitions, with the ability to manage people, processes, and deadlines effectively.
Location: Northampton | On-site
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm
Pay: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum (DOE)
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee all workshop operations, ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency, and health & safety are maintained at all times.
* Lead, manage, and support a team of skilled joiners and fabricators in delivering bespoke builds to client specifications.
* Manage production schedules, resource planning, and material procurement to meet project deadlines.
* Interpret technical drawings and CAD plans, translating concepts into precise, manufacturable components.
* Act as a key point of contact between workshop, project, and installation teams to ensure seamless delivery of work.
* Conduct regular quality checks and ensure continuous improvement across the workshop function.
* Maintain a tidy, safe, and well-organised workshop environment.
* Identify and resolve production challenges proactively, ensuring minimal disruption to workflow.
* Support the onboarding and training of new staff, promoting best practices and team development.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a similar workshop, production, or site management role - ideally within exhibitions, joinery, bespoke carpentry, or interiors.
* Strong working knowledge of fabrication techniques, woodworking machinery, and production planning.
* Comfortable working to tight deadlines with a high level of attention to detail.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills, with experience managing workshop teams.
* Ability to read and work from technical drawings and plans.
* A hands-on approach with the ability to motivate others and problem-solve under pressure.
* A full UK driving licence is preferred due to occasional site or supplier visits.
