Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are looking for a Electrical Maintenance Engineer to work for a packaging company based in Leicester.
This is a permanent position direct with our client
The Job:
You will be part of a team of Engineers providing maintenance support so that manufacturing can optimise output and quality of their manufactured product.
The role covers the maintenance of all manufacturing plants and equipment.
You will work pro-actively carrying out all planned maintenance activities and projects for business improvements.
Some of the key responsibilities and activities will include:
1. fault finding and diagnostics
2. breakdown repairs of machinery, machine tools and special purpose machinery, lines and equipment
3. some installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment
4. Maintaining AC/DC Drives, PLC (Siemens S5 & S7), pneumatics and hydraulics
5. Basic mechanical knowledge and maintenance backup is expected
6. Your purpose is to maximise machine availability and efficiency through reactive and planned maintenance and repairs of modern PLC driven tissue manufacturing, packaging.
7. To communicate and record relevant information regarding repair and maintenance activity performed on manufacturing, packaging and site service equipment on a CMM software program
8. To minimise equipment downtime using a thorough and considered approach, within our food hygiene and health and safety guidelines.
9. Ensuring that maintenance plans and records are kept up to date, using the computerised maintenance management system
10. Able to liaise effectively with production personnel to establish priorities in the event of breakdowns
11. Able to gain a thorough understanding of the operation, set-up and maintenance procedures on production
Hours of work are Monday to Friday - 12 hours per day
Salary is negotiable depending on your experience
The person:
12. Applicants must be experience and well trained Electrical Maintenance Engineers or Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineers with experience within the manufacturing sector.
13. It is essential that you have experience of maintaining PLC and SCADA systems utilising Siemens S5 and S7 systems.
14. Ideal candidates will have some mechanical knowledge and skills to complement a sound electrical maintenance background and will come from either a Packaging or manufacturing background..
15. Multi skilled to cover electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
16. Able to train others in the operation, set-up and maintenance of machines and equipment
17. Able to work under own initiative and prioritise workload accordingly
18. Competent in the use of Excel and Word
