We are now recruiting for a Yard Shunter to join our team on a Permanent basis at Culina Hereford.
Job Description
Shift: 3ON 3OFF Days - 07:00 to 19:00
Salary: £38,472.46 per annum plus weekend working premiums
Your key responsibilities will include but not limited too;
* To observe and adhere to all Company rules and procedures, including all aspects of Health, Safety and Hygiene.
* To maintain a good working knowledge of Culina Logistics and operations within the Transport Department.
* To maintain a high standard of behaviour and appearance that upholds and enhances the Company image.
* To effectively manage one’s own Working Time in line with the Road Transport Directive.Conduct daily checks and complete associated documentation.
* Carry out trailer checks on loaded trailers and report to Transport staff.
* Carry out shunting duties including relevant maintenance and safety checks.
* Liaise with the warehouse control and goods in staff to ensure smooth and efficient loading/unloading of trailers.
* To observe and adhere to site procedures at all times.
* To attend company training as and when required.
Qualifications
* Class 1 Licence and experienced required.
* Attention to detail and accuracy at all times.
* Ability to work without direct supervision
* Flexible and methodical approach to work/training.
* Conscientious and reliable.
* Flexible attitude.
* Strong communication skills in order to deliver accurate information.
* The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
* Effectively prioritise work load in order to meet set deadlines.
* Able to work as part of a team or individually.
* Able to work effectively and communicate to the correct level.
* Have knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers’ hours.
* Be professional, approachable and helpful to ensure smooth running of the general operation.
