An excellent opportunity has arisen for a dedicated, knowledgeable and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join a highly regarded independent school in Reading. This is a full-time, permanent position, starting April 2026, offering the chance to teach motivated students within a supportive and academically ambitious environment.


Job Overview

The successful candidate will teach Science across KS3–KS5, delivering well-structured lessons that balance strong theoretical understanding with high-quality practical work. The school is seeking a Science Teacher who is confident in the laboratory, committed to academic excellence and keen to contribute to enrichment and wider departmental initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:
• Teaching Science across KS3–KS5 (specialism considered)
• Planning and delivering engaging practical and theory-based lessons
• Preparing students thoroughly for GCSE and A-Level examinations
• Supporting curriculum development and high-quality assessment
• Contributing to science clubs, competitions or enrichment activities
• Working collaboratively within a well-established Science Department

Experience & Qualifications

• Degree in a Science-related subject
• PGCE with QTS (or equivalent)
• Experience teaching Science at secondary level
• A-Level teaching experience desirable but not essential
• Strong classroom practice and confidence with practical science
