Youll work closely with our experts to monitor your site, which means youll get to see the difference that you make to peoples well-being every day. Key job responsibilities Assist with risk assessments as required and follow-up control measures to completion Advise associates and managers on company procedures and legal requirements within the level of a Technician knowledge. Monitor the fulfillment center for compliance to company safety procedures Assist with the investigation of incidents to establish root cause and develop required action plans with relevant processes Update internal records in regard to incidents, near misses and accidents Collate and produce weekly safety report as required Attend health and safety meetings on a monthly basis Undertake projects and information gathering to establish hazards and level of risk within the delivery station Be involved in undertaking action plans to ensure continuing compliance with Legislation Be able to maintain confidentiality in matters involving safety investigations Monitor Dock and Yard safety procedures to ensure compliance Monitor Smart Handling safety procedures to ensure compliance Carry out EHS training sessions for managers and associates as required A day in the life Youll be based at one of our sites. This means that you can closely track whats happening and people can easily ask you any questions throughout their shifts. This role is all about spotting potential issues before they happen. Youll spend a lot of time checking the site and getting to know the way that people use equipment. By understanding how every task and machine works, youll be able to think about the best way to keep processes safe. Youll also be one of the people to put safety changes into action, which means youll get to work closely with lots of people. Alongside your daily and weekly tasks, youll offer support to our Operations team on ad-hoc safety-related work. Safety is so important to Amazon, and youll help us gather the vital data that keeps us on top of our processes and ahead of any issues. Youll also share that data with people across the business and work with other teams to make sure theyre putting safety first. About the team Customer Fulfilment, or CF, is where it all started for Amazon. CF has scaled up from a humble team of booksellers to a sophisticated global team which handles more than 1.5 million orders every day. The team is the foundation of our business and its efforts have helped us diversify across new regions and services. With the help of emerging technology, were always looking for ways to offer a bigger, better product range delivered quickly and affordably. The CF team are the first people in the chain that helps customers get products at the speed were known for. Were based in Fulfilment Centres, which are at the heart of Amazons fast-paced Operations network. Our centres are sometimes referred to as the First Mile because its where most Amazon packages start their journey. We help to manage dynamic inventory and facilitate speedy deliveries round the clock. Lots of different people work in our Fulfilment Centres, so there are plenty of opportunities for every skillset. Some of us work with physical products, while others analyse data to help everyone across the business make smart decisions. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS NVQ Level 3 in occupational safety related field/NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent Experience running metrics report, analysing data to identify problems and a root cause Knowledge of UK Health & Safety Legislation and pertinent regulations Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in logistics / operations/ warehouse/ customer oriented environment Demonstrable ability to learn quickly, while closely adhering to new processes and procedures; Demonstrate willingness to change, adapt and innovate within the business You possess a meticulous level of sustained attention-to-detail Youre able to work independently, at times under minimum levels of supervision, demonstrating your ability to organise and prioritise your time effectively to meet targets and deadlines You can work at all levels, coaching and mentoring others to work safely Great team player: you contribute to a positive and healthy team environment You bring plenty of drive, enthusiasm and self-motivation with you each day
