DW Exhibitions are a family run business and we are searching for a Bench Joiner to join our existing team. We are a company dedicated to always delivering high-quality finishes each time.
At DWE we design, build and install exhibition stands that creates stand out designs for our clients and their brand.
We build in house at our HQ which is in Ripley, Derbyshire, by our existing team who have numerous years of experience within the exhibition industry. We follow the latest trends and technology developments within the industry and always willing to try new things through R&D.
We install at sites across the UK and occasionally in mainland Europe, so a passport is handy to have.
This is not a role that suits trades used to house building, or 1st fix, 2nd fix in construction - you must be used to workshop carpentry and joinery to a good standard
Key skills required:
Supervise daily workshop activities, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and to specification.
Be able to order materials for upcoming projects.
Oversee projects, ensuring adherence to design specifications.
Be capable of reading and understanding CAD drawings.
Confident to manufacture bespoke items for exhibition displays.
Sanding, finishing, and preparing wood surfaces as required prior to laminating / painting as finished items that may require this.
Good understanding of health and safety practices in a workshop setting.
Ensure all manufactured elements at precise measurements so when on site can be assembled to a high-quality standard.
Have own hand tools and PPE safety wear.
Maintain a clean and organised workshop / space environment.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently as part of daily operations.
candidates must have sound carpentry and joinery experience rather than just first and second fix builders carpentry experience.
Driving license (with a minimum of 6 penalty points) and able to drive a 3500kg van if required.
