Tobe responsible for the professional lead legal training andsupervision of the Property Group (sale & purchaseremortgage transfer of equity & equity release) anddelivery of a professional service by the teams to external andinternal clients. To achieve required operational financial andclient service performance standards. To fully contribute tooverall successful departmental and firm performance effectivebusiness development and caseintake.
PerformanceManagement
To be responsible for the professional standard of work done by theProperty Group to be measured via regular monthly and other filereviews.
To beresponsible for case supervision of all property fee earners in theperformance of their case work by monthly file reviews by daytodaysupervision discussion and problem resolution in accordance withSRA Lexcel and CQS standards. Where appropriate making acontribution to their monthly review meetings with the PGOM.
Toprovide supervision advice and guidance on technical andprofessional matters to the other members of the propertygroup.
To be responsible for devising implementing and delivering astructured and ongoing Property Group training programme to ensurethat all fee earners and support staff have best practice standardknowledge of relevant property law andpractice.
To create and maintain a source of best practice template lettersand documents and their continued implementation within the casemanagementsystem.
To provide appropriate input and guidance to ensure the firmretains Lexcel and CQSaccreditation.
Where appropriate to provide input and assist the PGOM inconducting appraisals and setting objectives and targets forProperty Groupstaff.
Riskand Compliance
To beresponsible for the review and authorisation of undertakings.Retentions and other similar procedural transactional mattersprovided by Property Group staff and to ensure record is kept ofthesame.
To manage and maintain the High Risk Register in respect ofconveyancingmatters.
To be responsible for the supervision of Property Group staff inthe application of antimoney laundering source of funds and otherdue diligence requirements and to authorise matters to proceedincluding particularly (but not limited to) unencumbered propertytransactions and to refer to the MD in appropriatecircumstances.
To be responsible for the investigation and review of allegationsof professional negligence and to report to the MD in respect ofthe same to plan a strategy forresponse.
To assist the PGOM with the investigation and reporting ofpotential data protection breaches under the GDPR or similarlegislation.
To be responsible for ensuring the department members work withsystems and procedures that are Lexcel CQS and Proclaim compliantincluding producing and regularly reviewing templates and precedentdocuments.
To be jointly responsible (with PGOM) to assist the Finance Managerin ensuring compliance with all VAT and Tax matters and AccountsRules relating to Property Grouptransactions.
ClientManagement
To devise and implement appropriate strategy to ensure that theProperty Group operates to maximum efficient in the management ofcase working recovery of fees and a high level of clientservice.
To be responsible for the investigation of client complaints andthe reporting of the same to the MD and thereafter the drafting ofappropriate response in accordance with the firm s complaintsprocedure.
To seek to develop strong relationships with potential new workinto the Property Group (jointly with the MD PGOM and the BusinessDevelopmentteam).
To be jointly responsible (with the PGOM) for the Property Groupmaintaining good relationships with third partyintroducers.
Key areas ofresponsibility
To provide leadership to the Property Group to ensure organisedclient focused cost effective and efficient service delivery.
Properly recruit select train actively develop motivate and manageProperty Group staff to empower them to deliver theiraccountabilities and achieve their fullpotential.
Implement and uphold all the firm s policies andprocedures.
Display the knowledge skills and behaviours required by the firm asset out in the Lexcel leadership & management culturestatement and key behavioursdocument.
Deliver effective supervision of best practice and fullimplementation of case management standards across the PropertyGroup through day to day support ofstaff.
To engage and effectively communicate with staff ensuring a regularreview of Property Group processes problem solving and creativethinking.
Work with the business development team and other colleagues tocontribute to the development and delivery of effective clientrelationships to achieve the firm s strategic objectives toincrease property caseintake.
