We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working individual to join Broad Heath’s team. As a Sports Teaching Assistant. As an Apprentice you will gain many new skills to help you develop throughout the apprenticeship.

Working hours:Monday – Friday (Shifts TBC) 37 hours per week

Apprenticeship Details -24 months expected duration to complete, working towards your Level 3 Teaching Assistant Sports Pathway Qualification. (All learning is delivered online/ remote).

As an apprentice you will become an essential part in the learning environment for classroom teacher’s and pupils. Working to ensure pupils thrive in a positive, nurturing and safe environment. TAs play a crucial role in supporting teachers and pupils. Your work can have a significant impact on the children's learning experiences, helping them to succeed academically and personally.
As a Sports Teaching Assistant you will provide Teaching Assistant support within the school’s Sports facility, key Responsibilities include:
* Plan, prepare and deliver high quality classroom support.
* Plan, prepare and deliver high quality PE/Sport sessions.
* Deliver bespoke interventions e.g. 1:1 support, SEN, small group work.
* Deliver extra-curricular supervisory sessions (e.g. Before and After School Care) and sports clubs, as required by the school.
* Work with a designated Sports Teacher to develop the appropriate skills, knowledge and behaviours required to be a proficient Sports Teaching Assistant.
* Commit to the completion of the Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard, including the End Point Assessment (EPA) process.
* Commit to the completion of additional qualifications, e.g. Safeguarding, Prevent, COVID-19 awareness, E-Safety, First Aid, sports-specific qualifications, via attendance at education days/online sessions and complete your coaching qualification
* Follow all organisation’s procedures and policies, with specific reference to Safeguarding Children protocols.
* Undertake appropriate training related to your apprenticeship
* Ensure all tasks and records are maintained
* Work collaboratively with your apprenticeship mentor and training partner
* Manage own learning/study time effectively
* Enjoy the job and be willing to support any member of the team.
Essential skills:
* Achieved GCSE grade C/4 or above in English & Maths
* Interested in teaching and sports
Desired skills:
* Work experience or volunteering
Personal qualities:
* Enthusiastic and hold a keen interest in the importance of Sports and developing the education of the younger generation.
* Self-motivated, reliable, resourceful, approachable and above all else have a great sense of humour. A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development is a must.
* A willingness to engage generally in the life of the school, including those activities that take place outside the classroom.
