1 shift per week - 12 hours.

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Catering Assistant to join our team in a specialist dementia care home. You'll play a vital role in supporting the kitchen team to deliver nutritious, well-presented meals that meet the individual needs of our residents. This is more than just a catering job—it's an opportunity to contribute to the wellbeing and comfort of people living with dementia.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assist in the preparation and serving of meals and snacks in accordance with dietary requirements
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas
* Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
* Support residents during mealtimes with kindness and patience
* Follow food safety, infection control, and health & safety procedures
* Help with stock rotation and deliveries
* Communicate effectively with care staff to ensure residents' preferences and needs are met

About You:

* Previous experience in a catering or kitchen assistant role (care home experience is a plus)
* Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards (Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate desirable)
* Empathetic and respectful approach to working with people living with dementia
* Good communication skills and a team player attitude

Please note all applicants must already hold the legal right to work in the UK

Devonshire House in Sudbury is home to well trained and helpful staff with rooms for up to 68 residents. * Historic and beautiful listed building with extensive landscaped grounds in a rural setting beside the river
* The service is immersed within an active village community. We regularly host events at the home and can attend village events or use the community shop, tea rooms or three pubs
* The home has lots of internal space including a cinema, conservatory and therapy room providing everyone with the space and privacy they choose
