The successful General Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accuracy in accounting processes, and supporting the company's financial operations. You will perform a range of accounting tasks, including maintaining ledgers, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities Financial Recordkeeping Maintain and update the general ledger, journals, and supporting financial documents. Post daily transactions and ensure accuracy in financial data entry. Financial Reporting Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Generate internal financial reports for management review. Reconciliation & Analysis Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts. Monitor and analyse financial data to identify discrepancies or irregularities. Suggest improvements to financial processes and controls. Compliance & Auditing Ensure adherence to accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS). Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation. Maintain compliance with tax regulations and support tax filings. Operational Support Support month-end and year-end closing activities. Collaborate with other departments to resolve financial issues or provide financial information. Maintain accurate and organized accounting records for easy retrieval. What you'll need to succeed! Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. (Professional certification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) is an advantage. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAGE Intacct, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Good communication and interpersonal abilities. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
