Auto Bodytech are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our Accident and Service Centre. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be adept at using various hand and power tools. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. The successful applicant will also demonstrate excellent customer service skills, as they will interact with clients.
Duties
Diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle issues using schematics and technical manuals
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles, including engine, transmission, brakes, and electrical systems
Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for assembly and disassembly of vehicle components
Conduct equipment repair tasks as necessary to ensure optimal performance
Carry out welding tasks for necessary repairs or modifications
Maintain a clean and organised work environment to uphold safety standards
Assist customers with inquiries regarding their vehicles and provide exceptional service throughout the repair process
Engage in heavy lifting as required during the repair or maintenance of vehicles
Carry out MOT Repairs
Carry out works on Ambulance trust vehicles
Ability to work effectively in a team to ensure high standards of customer care and satisfaction
Qualifications
Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle repair and maintenance
Preferred qualification NVQ level 3 Vehicle technician
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment
Familiarity with schematics for diagnosing vehicle issues
Able to prioritise
Full clean driving license C1 desirable
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients
Capability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential
