Field Service Engineer (Hardware) – Remote (East Anglia, UK)
Location & Work Arrangement
Full‑time remote role. Primary service area: East Anglia, UK – applicants must be based in this region.
Key Responsibilities
* Troubleshooting, repairing, installing, upgrading, and performing preventative maintenance on Varian hardware equipment following established procedures and guidelines.
* Providing customer‑centric support: diagnose and resolve complex customer issues and develop lasting customer relationships through effective communication.
* Managing time efficiently by balancing on‑site tasks such as preventative maintenance, installations, and upgrades with Varian’s Helpdesk function, providing remote support when not scheduled on‑site.
* Continuously learning and upgrading skills through Varian training classes for TrueBeam & Halcyon products, leading to VMS HW Level II and Imaging Level II certification testing.
Qualifications
* High school diploma or equivalent preferred; associate degree, technical/vocational training, or military experience with electronics is a plus.
* Solid knowledge and experience in electronic and electro‑mechanical engineering, micro‑computer/PC based systems, high voltage (HV), and radio frequency (RF).
* Ability to identify and repair complex software and treatment delivery system problems, with an added advantage if able to resolve imaging system defects.
* Proficiency in using electro‑mechanical test equipment.
