Mat Leave Cover: Early Years Educator (minimum Level 2 qualification in Early Years Care & Education). 10-month fixed-term contract. Full‑time: 37.5 hours over a 9‑day fortnight, Monday to Friday.
Are you passionate about supporting young children to learn, grow, and thrive? We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Early Years Educator to join our friendly nursery team on a maternity cover basis.
Our NHS nursery is based at the Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath and is staffed by a team of highly experienced educators.
Key Responsibilities
* Support children aged approximately 0–2 years in a safe, loving, and stimulating environment.
* Plan, deliver, and assess age‑appropriate activities in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
* Carry out observations and individual assessments to support each child’s development.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and nurturing environment and support the management of the toddler & baby room.
* Build strong attachments with children and work closely with parents to ensure continuity of care and routines.
* Spend time in the outdoor environment and incorporate sensory activities.
* Support the Key Group of children and help meet their educational needs.
* Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and initiative in a changing daily schedule.
Qualifications
* Full Level 2/3 Diploma in Early Years with experience working in an EYFS setting.
* Good knowledge and experience of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
* Ability to retain information and use initiative.
* Flexibility to travel to Haywards Heath and work various shifts.
