A long-established and highly respected main contractor operating across London and the Home Counties is looking to appoint a
Quantity Surveyor
to join their team. With a focus on bespoke, high-end commercial projects – including new builds, major renovations, and sensitive refurbishments – this company takes pride in delivering craftsmanship-led construction with architectural precision.
The Role:
Working closely with the Directors and site teams, the Quantity Surveyor will manage the commercial aspects of multiple projects from procurement through to final account. This role is ideal for a commercially astute individual who is comfortable in a client-facing capacity and has a passion for detail-driven, high-value homes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare cost plans, budgets, and tender documentation
* Procure and manage subcontractor packages
* Monitor project costs and financial performance
* Handle variations, valuations, and interim payments
* Manage final accounts and client reporting
* Attend site meetings and liaise closely with architects and designers
* Ensure projects remain commercially viable and delivered within budget
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the commercial sector
* Experience working on roofing, hospitals, schools, bars or schools projects.
* Strong knowledge of JCT contracts
* Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills
* Comfortable working across multiple live projects
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
