Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Contracting Solicitor to join our in-house legal team in Glasgow. The role involves negotiating and advising on a wide range of commercial contracts, including MSAs, framework agreements, and other contractual arrangements with clients, suppliers, and partners. We offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options, and support work-life balance.
Responsibilities
1. Negotiate contracts with clients and advise on contractual terms.
2. Review and improve standard terms of business based on negotiation experiences.
3. Handle various commercial contracting issues, including international and data-sharing agreements.
4. Interpret contractual provisions and provide legal input on various contracting situations.
5. Advise colleagues on risk management and compliance issues.
6. Collaborate with internal teams to deliver legal advice and support.
7. Mentor and guide less experienced lawyers.
8. Identify legal and risk trends and suggest mitigation strategies.
9. Contribute to training and development on legal and risk issues.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor or barrister with:
1. Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
2. Knowledge of professional liability law.
3. Understanding of professional services contracting and risk management.
4. A pragmatic, solution-oriented approach.
5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. Experience in managing and developing colleagues.
