Full job description We are looking for an experienced Metal Fabricator / Plate Worker to join our client on a permanent basis. Role Overview: You will be responsible for accurately cutting, shaping, and assembling a variety of materials including sheet metal, plate, tube, pipe, channel, and angle. You will prepare welds, mark out and cut cylinders, create templates, and perform final assembly to deliver high-quality products. Key Responsibilities: * Cut, grind, and shape metal components to precise specifications. * Perform basic MIG and MMA tack welding on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium. * Mark out cylinders for nozzle, bracket, and attachment placements; cut holes using torches and plasma cutters. * Prepare weld bevels on pipes, flanges, and cylinder seams. * Assemble metal cylinders using lifting equipment and temporary fixtures. * Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate PPE at all times. About You: * Previous experience using factory equipment such as saws, pillar drills, rotators, manipulators, and cranes. * Experience with heavy industry, pressure vessels, pipework, or structural steelwork is essential. * Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces. * Able to read and interpret fabrication drawings accurately. * Strong numerical skills including fractions and decimals. * Knowledge of factory safety standards is essential. * Forklift experience is advantageous but not required. At our client, you will work 39 hours per week, weekdays, with an early finish on a Friday.
