The role: Specialist Security Project Manager
Location: The position is based in the South Wales, Bristol, M4/M5 or wider South West region, with travel across the UK as required.

A well-established electrical engineering and security specialist, operating across the UK, is expanding its project delivery team and seeking an experienced Specialist Security Project Manager. The successful applicant will work closely with a dedicated security division, supporting the delivery of complex projects within secure, custodial and blue-light environments. Key Responsibilities
Manage the delivery of specialist security installation projects for secure-sector clients, including access control, CCTV and related safety systems.
Maintain high standards of workmanship across installation teams and provide technical guidance where required. Knowledge of Cathexis VMS is beneficial, though full training can be provided.
Liaise closely with principal contractors, client representatives, commissioning teams and service engineers across new builds, system upgrades and maintenance works.
Identify opportunities to enhance system performance and recommend additional services or improvements.
Oversee project timelines, resource planning, budgeting and progress reporting to ensure efficient and compliant delivery.
Key Requirements
Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets and forecasts.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate resources and manage deadlines.
Proven ability to handle change control and resolve issues under pressure.
Competence in project management software and general IT systems.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead teams effectively.
A solid understanding of construction legislation, technical documentation and Health & Safety requirements.
Relevant industry certifications or project management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, APM).
IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications are advantageous.
Experience delivering data networks, workstations or server infrastructure is beneficial.
Knowledge of major access control platforms (e.g., Honeywell, Lenel, Gallagher) is an advantage.
Exposure to nurse call systems is useful.
Full driving licence required (company vehicle provided).
Ability to pass security vetting to NPPV3 level - essential for work within secure and blue-light environments.
Flexibility to travel and stay away from home when attending site meetings or project-related activities across the UK.
