New Directions are providing experienced Teaching Assistants to multiple schools in the Caerphilly borough. The role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of pupils who require additional support to access their education.
About the Role
As an ALN Teaching Assistant, you will:
6. Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional learning needs
7. Build positive, trusting relationships with students to support their development and wellbeing
8. Assist in managing behaviour and promoting positive engagement strategies
9. Support students to access learning activities and stay focused
10. Work closely with teachers and ALNCOs
11. Help create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment
About You
The ideal candidate will:
12. Have experience working with children or young people with ALN, behavioural needs, or additional support needs (desirable but not essential)
13. Be calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations
14. Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
15. Be able to set clear boundaries while remaining supportive and understanding
16. Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children
17. Be adaptable and open to learning new strategies and approaches
18. Must be available to work between the hours of 8.30am and 3.30pm and available for a minimum of 3 days a week.
