Technology & Innovation Lead – Geospatial & Startups

£70,000 – £84,647 DOE (including London Weighting)
We are supporting an exciting organisation at the forefront of geospatial innovation and emerging technology, looking to hire a Technology & Innovation Lead to drive the delivery of a cutting-edge startup incubator programme focused on location-based products and services.
This is a unique opportunity to work within an innovation and R&D environment, collaborating with startups, founders, and partners to explore new applications of location data and emerging technologies. The role combines technical leadership, product strategy, innovation delivery, and programme management in a highly collaborative environment.
The Role
You will lead a multidisciplinary incubator team responsible for supporting early-stage startups, delivering innovation programmes, and accelerating research-led experimentation into real-world products and services.
You will play a key role in:
* Driving innovation strategy and programme delivery
* Supporting startup growth and product development
* Leading proof-of-concept experiments and validation activities
* Translating technical insights into commercial and strategic outcomes
* Building partnerships across technology and innovation ecosystems
Requirements
* 5–10+ years’ experience within geospatial technology and/or software development
* Experience across multiple programming languages, tools, and SDLC environments
* 3–5 years’ leadership experience managing high-performing teams
* Experience supporting startups, innovation programmes, incubators, or accelerators
* Proven delivery of research initiatives, innovation programmes, and experimental validation projects
* Strong understanding of emerging technology trends
* Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills
* Product-led and design-thinking mindset
