Vanrath are thrilled to be recruiting for a Level 7 Corporate & Support Services Officer on behalf of a large public sector company in Ballymena on a temporary basis. What's in it for you? Full time hours Temporary Level 7 £41,771 About your next employer This role sits within the newly created Corporate & Support Services Directorate. The role will include reviewing and improving systems, processes and procedures ensuring processes are followed and deadlines are met. It will include processing information and data, report writing, drafting correspondence for managers, resolving issues and managing relationships. You may be attending events, and meeting with stakeholders and partners from across the local Government and beyond to support the achievement of Council priorities. What you'll do Develop and track project plans, clearly outlining steps and tasks to ensure successful delivery of new processes and arrangements. Oversee the delivery of project plans, providing guidance, support, and direction as required. Monitor performance against project plans using appropriate software systems and tools. Report regularly on project progress, identifying risks and issues, and presenting updates to Senior Management, Elected Members, Council, and Committees to support informed decision-making. Prepare detailed, well-informed corporate consultation responses, ensuring coordinated input from senior officers and Elected Members, aligned with the Council's strategic priorities. Provide training, support, and expert advice to managers and staff on business processes and administrative functions. Research, promote, and implement best practice, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives, supporting council policy and strategy development in line with organisational priorities. Develop Forward Work Plans, identifying key decision points and critical timelines throughout the year. Lead research initiatives, including stakeholder consultation and engagement, to inform Corporate Strategy, policy development, and continuous improvement. Produce research papers and policy briefs to support evidence-based decision-making. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance affecting Council operations. Assist in interpreting public policy documents and circulars (e.g., from government bodies and public sector organisations). Develop, implement, monitor, and review processes and policies to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory duties. Provide advice and guidance to senior management and officers on policy and compliance matters. Build and maintain effective internal and external relationships and partnerships. Collaborate with council managers, staff, statutory and regional partners, regulators, and stakeholders to achieve council priorities. Allocate, manage, and review work to ensure outputs meet required quality standards. Provide support to line managers and teams on corporate processes, including audit, performance management, finance, and risk. Ensure accurate and effective records management systems are maintained, including appropriate retention and disposal in line with policies. Prepare comprehensive progress reports for a variety of stakeholders. Ensure all work is completed accurately, within agreed timescales, and in accordance with established processes. About you A degree in any discipline 2 years' experience of working in a role where you have provided advise and guidance to Senior management, contributing to the achievement of effective outcomes 2 years' experience collaborating and influencing senior internal and external stakeholders demonstrating the continued achievement of organisational outcomes 2 years' experience of preparing, implementing and reporting on plans / programmes to meet timescales and budgets Alternatively, if you do not have a 3rd level qualification you should demonstrate 4 years' experience in each of these.
