We’re looking for experienced Technical Leads to drive delivery across complex, mission‑critical programmes in the Defence & Security sector. This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll shape technical direction, lead high‑performing teams, and deliver impactful solutions in challenging environments.
What You’ll Do
* Lead multi‑disciplinary engineering teams across the full delivery lifecycle
* Set technical direction, architecture, and engineering standards
* Stay hands‑on with development while guiding team output
* Run code and design reviews to ensure quality and consistency
* Mentor and support engineers at all levels
* Work closely with clients to shape requirements and build trusted relationships
* Communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders
* Plan delivery, estimate work, and manage priorities
* Balance technical debt with delivery timelines in fast‑paced environments
What You’ll Need
* Proven experience in a Technical Lead or senior engineering role
* Strong software engineering background with hands‑on capability
* Experience leading cross‑functional teams in complex environments
* Ability to define architecture and make sound technical trade‑offs
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Experience working directly with clients or end users
Bonus Skills
* Experience in Defence, Security, or other high‑assurance environments
* Familiarity with agile delivery methodologies
* Strong understanding of scalable systems and modern architectures
Security Requirement
SC clearance (or willingness/eligibility to obtain) is required.
