Job Description Summary
As a Director of Product Ownership within the software engineering group, you will apply your knowledge of management, software development methodologies, best practices, and proven processes to lead teams building the next generation of energy utility distribution software to budget, within planned schedule, and with superb quality that delights the market.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Build and manage a world-class Product Owner team to define and ensure delivery of complex software platforms.
2. Contribute to and execute organizational strategy.
3. Drive process consistency with a continuous improvement mindset in an Agile (Scrum/SAFE) environment.
4. Participate in leadership of the Distribution engineering portfolio, ensuring open and transparent feedback for growth and success.
5. Develop a strong understanding of key priorities and provide daily work direction for project teams.
6. Coach product owners on requirements estimation and work sizing.
7. Demonstrate mastery of agile processes and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
8. Lead on Lean/Agile principles and practices.
9. Resolve conflicting priorities through proactive communication with stakeholders.
10. Serve as a subject matter expert for programs and initiatives, translating customer needs into functional specifications.
11. Work with stakeholders to prioritize requirements and coordinate across teams to deliver outcomes.
12. Stay informed of industry trends and recommend best practices for product and process improvements.
13. Make high-judgment decisions on operational, product management, and engineering issues, offering solutions and recommendations.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, STEM majors, or similar with significant experience.
