Role Overview
An experienced Event Operations Director with a background in golf events is required to oversee, lead, and grow the Event Operations team regionally. The role supports the company’s expanding international portfolio of professional events, handling operational delivery, budget and project management, logistics, and stakeholder liaison.
Key Roles And Responsibilities
* Create and review key operational planning documents to ensure successful implementation across multiple projects.
* Design, implement and evaluate standard operating procedures (SOPs) for operational event delivery, driving continuous improvement.
* Plan future operations and manage resource allocation within the Operations team for all regional events.
* Liaise with Event Directors and internal stakeholders to ensure SOPs are fit for purpose.
* Oversee event delivery budgets across the event portfolio.
* Coordinate with internal legal, HR, and external health & safety consultants to maintain best practices in insurance, legal and safety across the international event portfolio.
* Collaborate with Procurement and Operations Directors to deliver cost efficiencies and high‑quality products/services.
* Support supplier negotiations, requirements definition and service delivery.
* Stay current with innovations in event operations.
* Lead a skilled team to ensure high standards across all event activities.
* Mentor and coach team members, fostering a positive culture and clear development pathways.
* Travel internationally for event oversight – approximately 16 weeks per year.
* Own and lead delivery and execution of specific allocated events, including CAD plans, operational schedules, budgets and logistics plans.
* Operate in line with event safety & risk management standards and within the Event Operations Risk Management system.
* Conduct regular team meetings to align on all key areas and specialties.
* Act as a subject‑matter expert on site & infrastructure, technical production, safety, branding and signage, and general support services.
* Ensure safety and security standards are upheld at all times on site.
* Drive world‑class event operations standards and proactively monitor, prosecute and report on delivery issues.
* Provide concise updates to senior leadership and stakeholders on event status.
* Ensure consistent use of project management tools and deliver clear reports for senior management and client review.
* Produce budget, resource and post‑event reports promptly.
