A leading specialty insurance platform is seeking a Reinsurance Operations Manager (Whole Account Quota Share) to join its growing reinsurance operations team. This position plays a key role in managing the operational execution of whole account quota share programs, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance across all treaty and reporting activities. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and experienced in the operational and technical aspects of proportional reinsurance.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee operational execution of whole account quota share treaties, including documentation, tracking, and bordereaux management.
* Maintain accurate and current records of treaty terms, ceding percentages, commissions, and sliding scale provisions to ensure compliance with internal and contractual standards.
* Lead quarterly reporting cycles, coordinating data collection and validation to produce accurate bordereaux for reinsurers.
* Partner with underwriting, claims, and finance to compile, verify, and reconcile premium and loss data under quota share agreements.
* Monitor ceded premiums, commissions, and recoveries, ensuring alignment with treaty terms and internal controls.
* Deliver timely, accurate reporting of reinsurance results, including earned premiums, ceded losses, commissions, and adjustments.
* Reconcile data between internal systems and reinsurer statements to ensure integrity and consistency.
* Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for management and external partners.
* Support the preparation and review of reinsurance agreements, confirming operational details align with contractual provisions.
* Assist in resolving discrepancies in data submissions or treaty interpretation.
* Evaluate and improve operational workflows, identifying automation and efficiency opportunities within reinsurance processes.
* Collaborate across departments to implement best practices and strengthen reporting accuracy and turnaround times.
* Serve as a liaison between underwriting, actuarial, claims, finance, brokers, and external reinsurers.
* Provide subject matter expertise and operational support on quota share structures and reporting requirements.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field.
* 7+ years of experience in reinsurance operations, preferably with quota share or proportional reinsurance structures.
* In-depth understanding of treaty administration, bordereaux processes, and proportional reinsurance reporting.
* Strong technical skills in Excel and reinsurance management systems; experience with Duck Creek Reinsurance or similar platforms is advantageous.
* Proven ability to manage complex datasets, perform reconciliations, and maintain accuracy under tight deadlines.
* Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a collaborative, global environment.
