Overview

New Product Industrialization Engineer (N-PIE) at Belden Inc. Based at the cable plant in Parham, Suffolk, reporting to the Fiber Cable Engineering Manager. The role represents product industrialization within cross-functional teams, ensuring a smooth transition from development to manufacturing across the UK and North American facilities. You will facilitate cooperation between product development, supply chain, manufacturing, and external suppliers to improve manufacturing processes, tools, and equipment for reliable and efficient production of new product introductions. You will also partner with quality, production, and maintenance teams to establish procedures, methods, and specifications to ensure product quality standards.

Responsibilities

* Ensure the development process is followed for product introductions, qualifications, and releases, confirming that processes and equipment meet the requirements defined during development.
* Conduct feasibility assessments of cost, material availability, technology, and lead time to evaluate the viability of manufacturing new products.
* Prepare the Bill of Materials (BOM) and source materials from existing or new vendors and internal suppliers.
* Define inspection and test criteria for new products and processes to ensure product quality and compliance.
* Oversee manufacturing and ramp-up activities at the site to meet targeted performance metrics and capacity, addressing issues as directed by the manufacturing team.
* Work with Manufacturing teams to improve processes, tools, and equipment for stable and efficient production of new and existing products.
* Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to assess supplier capabilities, select appropriate suppliers, and manage supplier risks.
* Assist manufacturing and quality teams in addressing supplier part quality issues through root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures.


Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanics, or Materials/Controls Engineering/Automation specialization.
* 5-10 years of experience in manufacturing environments, new product/process industrialization, and implementation.
* Strong knowledge of the fiber cable extrusion process and project management experience.
* Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, with familiarity in SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling software.
* Hands-on experience with root cause analysis, failure mode avoidance, and process controls (DFM).
* Strong English communication skills; Spanish is preferred.
* Ability to build relationships across internal teams and external suppliers with a focused, outcomes-oriented approach.
* Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 10% international travel possible during the first year).
