Job Description

๐Ÿš€ The Job Mission

This is a hybrid role for candidates living within commutable distance to Bridgwater or Bristol, with relocation support available.

You will provide mechanical engineering expertise to support delivery of complex systems across major nuclear new build programmes. Your future team depends on you to ensure technical alignment, constructability, and quality across mechanical scopes.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Coordinate design activities for mechanical equipment and plant layout
๐Ÿ“„ Produce and revise technical specifications for new equipment scopes
๐Ÿ”ง Manage technical queries, changes, and non-conformances within scope
๐Ÿค Interface with piping, HVAC, civil and wider engineering teams
๐Ÿ” Review and approve contractor deliverables and design submissions
๐Ÿ“ Maintain and update 3D models and technical documentation
๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Ensure compliance with nuclear safety and quality standards
๐Ÿ“Š Track engineering risks and coordinate mitigation actions

Qualifications

๐Ÿ›  Skills and Qualifications

Nuclear experience is not essential, but is of course welcome. If you have worked within a highly regulated environment, your skills and approach are highly transferable and of strong interest to us.

We also recognise that the perfect candidate rarely exists. If you feel you meet around 80% of the criteria and are motivated to develop further, we would strongly encourage you to apply.

๐ŸŽ“ Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
โš™๏ธ Experience with mechanical equipment such as valves, piping, HVAC, rotating and static equipment
๐Ÿ“ Proficiency in 3D design software including Navisworks and 3DCAD tools
๐Ÿญ Background within highly regulated or safety critical industrial sectors
๐Ÿ“œ Strong understanding of technical reports and engineering design cycles
๐Ÿ” Knowledge of industrial standards and mechanical interface management
๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and suppliers
โœ… Proven experience resolving technical queries and engineering challenges
