Role Overview
The role as a Security Design Authority is to provide bespoke, detailed customer designs and technical ownership to the business's high‑profile accounts through the utilisation of specialist technical expertise. Add value through technical skills, issuing detailed network solutions, and providing technical leadership and implementation support.
Responsibilities
* Create detailed security designs for business customers, turning high level plans into practical solutions that meet the customer’s needs and work with their network setup.
* Plan and deliver firewall and network access solutions that meet customer needs, including moving existing systems and testing them to ensure everything works properly.
* Carry out hands‑on work to prepare, set up, and install new network equipment when needed and attend site visits and installations where necessary.
* Act as the technical expert during delivery after a sale, leading customer design sessions to understand their needs and ensure the best solution is designed and integrated to maximise the value of Vodafone products for their business.
* Be accountable for handing the customer accepted solution into live services (e.g., onboarding team, service desk and support teams).
* Provide pre and post‑sales consultancy to drive the generation of new business and provide 4th line support to the customer services organisation.
* Support the development and evolution of Vodafone products, continuously seeking to improve the customer experience through the product lifecycle.
* Work cooperatively with team members and colleagues, contributing positively and constructively to the achievement of team and organisational objectives.
Qualifications
* Experience dealing face‑to‑face with customers in a high‑level technical role (e.g., Consultant, Designer, Senior Engineer), including delivering presentations.
* Confidence and professionalism at dealing with difficult customer discussions and presenting to technical/customer audiences and senior management to influence a successful outcome.
* Ability to resolve complex problems ingeniously, accepting responsibility for the consequences of decisions and developing decision criteria based on factors that affect Vodafone and its customers.
* Sound understanding of Design best practice, business processes and frameworks (ITIL and eTOM) used to deliver complex customer solutions.
* Recognised professional level security certification from a leading technology provider (such as Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or Check Point).
* In‑depth knowledge and practical experience of LAN, WLAN, Perimeter Security & NAC.
* Experience in design and deployment of enterprise‑level LAN infrastructure, including L2 & L3 technologies, as well as network access control.
* In‑depth knowledge of network management, network availability and capacity planning.
