About The Role
Place2Be provides emotional and therapeutic support to children and young people aged 4-18 in partner schools. Counsellors working within the organisation adhere to the BACP ethical framework of good practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy, dedicated to improving mental health and well-being.
* We support counsellors on placement with regular supervision, tailored training workshops, and a well-recognised clinical placement.
* Comprehensive induction and daily clinical supervision are provided.
* Availability for at least one day per week to work in a therapeutic capacity with up to 3 children offering one-to-one counselling.
* Placements are term-time only, lasting one academic year, with opportunities for extension.
* Participants can attend up to six optional workshops per year, recognised as CPD time.
* Sessions with children count as clinical hours towards professional accreditation, recognised by BACP and UKCP.
* Many clinical staff started as Counsellors on Placement, making it a valuable stepping stone into a career with Place2Be.
* Openings are available in primary and secondary school projects nationwide.
Counting your hours
Clinical hours gained can contribute to accreditation with bodies like BACP and UKCP. Check with your course tutor if child hours are accepted for your course. If not, you may apply for a second placement for experience.

Place2Be promotes equal opportunities and encourages applications from all backgrounds, especially Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic communities, and male candidates to reflect community diversity. Successful applicants will require an Enhanced DBS/PVG disclosure.
Training availability
Mandatory training includes:
* Safeguarding Induction (1 day): 28th September, 27th October
* Placement Introductory Workshop (2 days): 7-8 October, 2-3 December, 13-14 January, 9-10 March
