Management Accountant, Aquavista

Report Line: Financial Controller
The Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of our financial reporting and ensuring the accuracy of our accounting records. You will be instrumental in maintaining smooth day-to-day finance functions, providing valuable insights through timely reporting, and upholding financial controls. Your work will underpin key business decisions and contribute to the ongoing growth and success of Aquavista.
Key Success Measures
· Accuracy of financial records: Maintain up-to-date and error-free accounting ledgers, ensuring compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
· Timely completion of tasks: Meet deadlines for month-end, year-end, and ad hoc reporting, ensuring all submissions are accurate and on time.
· Support for business operations: Provide prompt and effective financial support to internal teams, helping them achieve their objectives.
· Continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes and implement best practices within the finance function.
· Stakeholder satisfaction: Build positive relationships with colleagues, auditors, suppliers, and customers, delivering excellent service and communication.
· Adaptability: Demonstrate initiative and flexibility by responding effectively to the evolving needs of the business and finance team.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Transactions & Ledger Maintenance
· Process financial transactions / Journals, ensuring correct coding and authorisation.
· Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
· Maintain the fixed asset register and support depreciation calculations.
Reporting & Compliance
· Lead the preparation of the monthly management accounts, including revenue recognition, accruals, prepayments, and variance analysis.
· Lead the preparation and submission of Tax returns and other statutory filings.
· Support with year-end audit preparation, providing schedules and supporting documentation as required.
Process Improvement & Controls
· Proactively identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and accuracy in finance processes.
· Ensure adherence to internal controls and company financial procedures at all times.
Stakeholder Support
· Respond to queries from internal and external stakeholders, providing clear and timely information.
· Support the Financial Controller and wider team with ad hoc projects and reporting requirements.
Other Key Finance Activities
· Support with credit control activities as needed.
· Produce financial reports that inform business decisions and drive improvement.
· Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive and collaborative workplace culture.
· Undertake other finance-related tasks and projects as the business evolves.
Skills & Competencies
· Previous experience in a management accounting or similar finance role, with strong technical accounting knowledge (studying towards or completed ACCA / CIMA / ACA)
· Proficient in Office 365, especially Excel, and familiar with accounting software packages (e.g., Sage 200, or similar).
· Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, accurate work.
· Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
· Clear and confident communicator with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance colleagues.
· Numerate and analytical, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
· Willingness to learn, adapt, and support the wider team as required.

Pay: £32,000.00-£38,000.00 per year
