About the Role To undertake cleaning and laundry work in accordance with the relevant service specification. To provide excellent customer service to tenants, providing timely feedback on completions and progress and/or problems encountered to the Scheme Manager. Key Responsibilities: Generally, scheme requirements can vary, and it is expected that General Assistants / Housekeepers are able to carry out all of the following responsibilities: Carry out daily and deep cleaning of communal areas as directed by the Scheme Management Officer and as detailed in the Scheme Cleaning Specification / Task list Maintain all work locations, including store rooms in a clean and safe order Carry out visual building checks and report to the Scheme Management Officer any damage or repairs noted/identified during the course of your work Observe and adhere to Health and Safety requirements at all times (including COSHH regulations) Attend staff meetings, training, supervisions and appraisals as required Order, monitor and log cleaning materials According to the requirements of the scheme collect, receive and organise washing cycles for residents’ and other scheme laundry in accordance with washing instructions and as directed by the Scheme Management Officer According to the requirements of the scheme, iron laundry and return to residents within required timescales and as directed by the Scheme Management Officer Clean all machines and maintain the laundry in a clean and tidy state Assist the Scheme Management in general office administration/scheme tasks as required Provide general assistance to residents on an ad-hoc / emergency basis as directed by the Scheme Management Officer Assist at social events as required More about you: Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths & English (Grades A* - C) Domestic, office or industrial cleaning experience An understanding of basic cleaning practices, equipment and products including COSHH regulations An understanding of Health and Safety Regulations and procedures Ability to work unsupervised, to organise, prioritise and use own initiative and ability to plan and prepare workload during planned absences Experience of working with older or vulnerable people with a variety of needs is desirable A self-starter with a proactive and enthusiastic attitude Basic IT literacy in order to manage stock lists electronically and access online training Join us in making a tangible impact on housing in the UK, where your expertise contributes directly to improving lives and shaping thriving communities.
